Programme Note

NEW WORLDS

The music of America and beyond, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the American Memorial Chapel at St Paul’s Cathedral

America in Paris Spectacular

Now in its third year, The Grand Organ Gala has become one of London’s marquee organ events, as the magnificent 7246-pipe Cathedral Organ joins forces with full symphony orchestra in an American/French, French/American programme that culminates in Saint-Saëns’ classic Organ Symphony.  Along the way we encounter the Barber’s epic Toccata Festiva and Gershwin’s iconic An American in Paris, complete with car horns!
