'Behold, the sea!' Vaughan Williams’ strikingly original and breath-taking choral work A Sea Symphony is imbued with a sense of adventure and the mighty power of the sea. From announcing itself with a thrilling brass fanfare to its final notes conjuring a vision of panoramic horizons, you'll be set for a memorable musical voyage. Mendelssohn's unmistakable Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave) and Britten's vivid Four Sea Interludes (distilled from the opera Peter Grimes) will also be performed by WFCS's orchestral partners, the Meridian Sinfonia symphony orchestra. Singing with the 150 members of Worcester Festival Choral Society - many of whom sing in the renowned Three Choirs Festival Chorus - will also be acclaimed soloists.
