Programme Note

The English Symphony Orchestra wowed the Assembly Hall Theatre in their debut in January of this year, and now return for a thrilling programme of Romantic musical favourites with Britain’s most-beloved violinist, Nicola Benedetti. Benedetti performs Elgar’s profound and personal Violin Concerto, a work made famous in a recording by the ESO’s former conductor, Yehudi Menuhin. The concert concludes with Brahms’ warm-hearted and joyful Second Symphony under the baton of the ESO’s conductor, Kenneth Woods.
