The virtuosic fireworks of Wienawski’s Fantasie brilliante, based upon two themes from Gounod's Faust, will then light up the evening before the lighter, dance-like Andromeda by Augusta Holmes shows us that we don’t always have to have to be bound by our fate. The concert ends with one of the most famous symphonies in the repertoire - Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, with its instantly-recognizable four-notes opening “fate” motif.
