Programme Note

This year’s ensemble-in-residence, Figo, four Scholars of the Royal Academy of Music, make their festival debut in this candlelit, late-evening musical meditation.

Exploring an all-Bach programme, performances include the famous Cello Suite in G major, an exuberant display of rhythmic energy and sonorous grandeur. Also featured is Bach’s Passacaglia in C minor for organ, one of his most impressive keyboard works, played by festival favourite James Gough (Assistant Organist at St Martin-in-the-Fields).
