Attendance in person may not be possible if government guidelines change prior to the event. We reserve the right to make this event livestream only and will inform ticket holders in advance. The first period instrument quartet to be selected as BBC New Generation Artists, the Consone Quartet are fast making a name for themselves with their honest and expressive interpretations of classical and early romantic repertoire. Their debut CD (released in 2018) explores music by Haydn and Mendelssohn, and was met with great critical acclaim as a recording “that instantly leaps out of the stereo at you as something special” (The Strad, 2019). The Consone Quartet are a young string quartet with a really big future. They play with perfect intonation, tremendous attack, and impeccable historical style… I would happily listen to them every day. Sir Roger Norrington     About the Sunday Concerts Founded in the 1880s, our chamber music concert series is the longest-running of its kind in Europe. Conway Hall was purpose-built in 1929 to host concerts and lectures, and they have continued here until the present day. The ethos of “affordable classical music for all” still remains.
