Programme Note

This meditative event weaves together Vedic chant led by members of the Bhavan centre with choral settings of these Hindu texts. Jean Coulthard, a student of Vaughan Williams, exults the mystery of creation, while delicate music of contemporary composers Anna R Matthews, Roxanna Panufnik and Sally Lamb McCune embraces the listener, mirroring the celestial beauty of Holst’s settings for choir and solo harp.
