Add to my Calendar 23-03-2019 19:30 23-03-2019 21:30 36 Vivaldi - Four Season by Candlelight If you're looking for a romantic candlelit experience - or simply want to enjoy some classical music greats in a gorgeous setting - then this is the concert for you. UK based chamber orchestra London Concertante regularly performs up to and over one hundred concerts per year, making it the busiest ensemble of its kind in the country. With their numerous recordings reaching great critical acclaim, the ensemble is continually regarded as one of the finest groups in Europe since its founding in 1991.   Join us for this candlelit concert, and the ensemble will transport you between seasons, countries, and eras. The program begins with the sublime and beautiful ‘Brandenburg Concerto No. 5’ by J.S.Bach, described by Classic FM as ‘the perfect gateway into the world of Baroque music.’ Vivaldi’s playful ‘Bassoon Concerto’ is contrast with the beautifully rich, pastoral masterwork of Vaughan-Williams, which itself is followed by the emotionally charged ‘Oboe Concerto’, by Telemann. The program is completed by ‘Spring’ & ‘Summer’ from Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’, with its glistening melodies and enthralling instrumental interplay. For classical music lovers and casual listeners alike - this promises to be a truly special evening.   If you don’t consider yourself ‘in the know’ about Mozart, Beethoven, or Bach, fear not, this is the orchestra for you. The ensemble boasts an audience record in which an impressive 50% of spectators are first-time classical concert goers! The London Concertante has its audience laughing at jokes, gasping at virtuosity, moved by gorgeous playing, and leaving with a smile on their faces.   ‘The talent on display is breathtaking’ - Sunam, October 2018   ‘A magical experience’ - Geraldine, June 2018   ‘Really accessible, entertaining and beautiful’ - Audience Member, 2018   Southwark Cathedral, London DD/MM/YYYY
