Programme Note
Join the LCO in this youthful celebration of a selection of spirited dances and narratives by De Falla, Poulenc, and Andrzej Panufnik, featuring the award-winning British vocal ensemble Apollo5.
The young participants of LCO’s Music Junction project join the orchestra and vocalists in a triumphant culmination of the year’s creative learning. Together they perform Orchestrapædia, a light-hearted response to Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra by acclaimed British composer Roxanna Panufnik.
“The LCO played with spirit, enviable precision, warmth and ebullience – it makes a massive difference to me to see musicians visibly enjoying what they’re playing. Great energy exuded from the stage creating three movements of wonder and delight. I was transfixed.” – Jon Jacob, Thoroughly Good Blog
“The last concert, as ever, was superb, uplifting and inspiring! I love the general atmosphere, the dedication of the Music Junction mentors and the children, and the sheer joie de vivre, exuberance and enthusiasm.” LCO Supporter
“The professional musicians we got to play alongside with made a massive impact on me. Their attitude towards music, professionalism, and generosity helped me learn a lot from them.” Music Junction participant
