Add to my Calendar 07-06-2024 18:00 07-06-2024 20:00 36 Strand Chamber Music Series 2023/4 (Concert 12) - Meraki Quartet Enjoy the twelfth concert in this exceptional new series of chamber music in the beautiful candlelit venue of St Mary le Strand.  A unique opportunity to experience some of the UK's leading chamber music artists, the series will cover a broad spectrum of repertoire from ensemble works by Beethoven, Ravel and Debussy to exquisite early vocal works by John Mundy, John Dowland and William Byrd along with 20th Century works for Saxophone quartet.  St Mary le Strand is a stunning and intimate venue, the perfect setting for this musical experience. There are also many bars and restaurants nearby to complete your evening.The Meraki Quartet is a multinational group formed in 2022 and based at the Royal Academy of Music in London. The group is currently formed by Munjung Heo, Tze Hin Kelvin Ng (violins), Dorota Kolinek (viola) and Stefan Rogers (cello).The awardees of the 22/23 The Frost Trust Advanced Specialist Strings Ensemble Training Scheme, the Meraki quartet worked in close partnership with their mentor Martin Outram. The ensemble was also privileged to work with acclaimed chamber musicians including Marc Danel, Leandro Silvera, Peter Jarusek, Tim Frederiksen, Isabel Chiarisius, members of the Doric String Quartet, the Chilingirian Quartet, the Pavel Haas Quartet, the London Haydn Quartet and more.  The Meraki Quartet proudly represented the Royal Academy of Music at The Cavatina Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition 2023 at Wigmore Hall.  The group has a special interest in studying and performing a wide range of chamber pieces from the outside of the standard chamber music repertoire. The players enjoy performing works from historical performance all the way to contemporary music.  Furthermore, the quartet is passionate about educating the newest generation of players and has taught young chamber groups privately, as guests at the Eton College and at the Haberdashers' Aske's Boys School during the Stellar Strings 2023 course.Meraki Quartet is looking forward for their upcoming concerts, including the For Crying Out Loud! concert series at Wigmore Hall for the 23/24 and 24/25 concert seasons.
