Programme Note
French virtuoso pianist Pascal Rogé performs solos by Satie and, with his wife Ami, duos representing the best of late romantic French piano repertoire.
Rogé first appeared in public in 1960 with a performance of Claude Debussy's Préludes. He won the piano prize at the Paris Conservatory and worked for several years with Julius Katchen. At seventeen, he gave his first recitals in major European cities, landing an exclusive contract with Decca in the process. He also performs chamber works with the Pasquier Trio, and with musicians such as Pierre Amoyal and Michel Portal.
Ami Hakuno Rogé began studying the piano as a small child in her native city of Tokyo. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from The Juilliard School and her Masters Degree from Mannes College. Ami Rogé is a versatile performer of solo piano, chamber music, harpsichord and basso continuo with baroque ensembles.
