Praised for their seductive sound, technical excellence and fiery enthusiasm, the quartet is rapidly establishing an international reputation. Boccherini wrote nearly 100 string quartets, full of Rococo charm and melodic invention. Beethoven’s Op. 74 dates from his middle period, shortly after completion of his 5th Symphony.
