Programme Note

Dima Bawab began studying music at the age of only four years old. She studied singing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, from where she graduated with dinstinction. Since then, Dima has worked all over the world in a huge variety of répertoire.

Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.6 was his final completed symphony, which premièred just nine days before he died. He called it “the best thing I have composed”. Its French subtitle was translated from Russian, but its meaning is supposed to be ‘Passionate’.
