Programme Note

St Albans cellist Michael Wigram plays the dramatic First Concerto by Camille Saint-Saens. Mahler’s epic Symphony No.5 is his most famous composition, thanks to its beautiful Adagietto fourth movement, used in the 1971 film Death in Venice.
