Red Priest plays baroque music with attitude as well as astonishing virtuosity and sets out to challenge perceived notions of how music of this period should be performed. In this programme, Red Priest explores the connections between gypsy musicians and the master composers of the 17th and 18th centuries, including Handel, Biber and, of course, Vivaldi. From the Eastern European folk influences in the music of Telemann, to the recently discovered Uhrovska Collection of gypsy dance tunes from 1730, Red Priest combines its trademark baroque dynamism with true gypsy mayhem!
