Programme Note

The Pomegranate Trio is a collaboration between award-winning chamber musicians and has acquired an enviable reputation for fine performances throughout the UK, including regular visits to Scotland.

This carefully crafted programme opens with one of Clara Schumann’s finest and most substantial works, followed by a 20th century masterpiece in the form of Ravel’s Trio, written in 1914, shortly before he enlisted into the French Army for the First World War.

The concert ends with Beethoven’s mighty ‘Archduke’ Trio, which the composer himself considered one of his greatest works. Any performance of this masterpiece is a big occasion and in these experienced hands it will be unforgettable.
