Programme Note

Allow yourself to be transported to an ethereal place of contentment and serenity as you enjoy sublime choral music on a summer's evening.

Vox Anima London is thrilled to bring the delicious choral music of Philip Stopford to its 2023 concert series. Missa Deus Nobiscum - composed by Philip in 2019 - is a setting of the Latin Mass, and was commissioned by Methodist College, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Guest conductor Joseph Wilkinson is on the podium leading a choir of voices from the US and UK.

Dr James Meaders, Vox Anima London's Founder and Artistic Director, conducts his own 16-voice Chamber Choir in the London premiere of Dan Forrest's LUX: The Dawn From On High arranged for upper voices. Vox Anima Chamber Choir was the lead commissioner of a consortium for the arrangement of LUX for upper voices. The choir was delighted to present the World Premiere in October 2022 and has since performed it on several occasions most notably in Atlanta, Georgia and New York City.
