Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes back The Maidstone Singers from Kent and Notability from Manchester for this concert of secular and sacred choral music spanning the last 150 years. The choirs will combine for several items throughout the evening as well as performing their own repertoire. The programme includes works by some of the great composers of the English Choral Tradition at the turn of the last century, Elgar, Stanford and Wood, pieces by contemporary composers Bob Chilcott, Ola Gjeilo, Sir Karl Jenkins and John Rutter, and lighter items such as arrangements of And So It Goes, The Bare Necessities, Blue Moon and a medley of songs by Lennon & McCartney. Join us for this rich and varied programme in the delightful surroundings of St Botolph’s.
