Add to my Calendar 09-10-2021 11:00 09-10-2021 13:00 36 Oxford Lieder Festival: Victor Sicard & Anna Cardona: Natural Histories This outstanding duo were Oxford Lieder’s first ever Young Artist Platform winners back in 2011. They have both enjoyed tremendous success since then and their recent CD of Ravel songs has been widely praised. Today, they include songs by Saint-Saëns, his student Gabriel Fauré, and Fauré’s student Maurice Ravel. The latter’s Histoires Naturelles (‘Natural Histories’) form the centrepiece of the programme. These glorious five songs, settings of Jules Renard, are a brilliant commentary on familiar personalities, via the strutting peacock, the vain swan and the belligerent guinea fowl. Enjoy the whole festival live online for £165 with a Digital Festival Pass. All events will be available on demand after broadcast until 30th November, so you can catch up at a time which suits you.
