Programme Note
Opening with works by several living and recent British composers, this concert showcases the evolution and freshness of the British vocal tradition today. Including several modern melodic portraits alongside an array of songs by Ursula and Ralph Vaughan Williams, the program explores their relationship in their own words, juxtaposing contemporary novelty and delicacy with romantic and prophetic intensity.
