Programme Note
Formed in 2021, the award-winning Astatine Trio have performed extensively across the UK and abroad, including Wigmore Hall, St George's Bristol, Aldeburgh's Jubilee Hall, the Harrogate Sunday Series and BBC Radio 3 In Tune. The ensemble were named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists 2025-27 and recently recieved second prize and special prize at the 2025 Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz (as the first UK-based ensemble to win a main prize in the competition's history!) The group have also recieved first prize at Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition, Belcanto International Chamber Competition and the Senior Intercollegiate Piano Trio Competition, as well as winning the SEAM Prize for contemporary music at the Lyon International Chamber Music.
They recieved mentorining from Alfred Brendal form 2022-25 and are supported by Kirckman Concerts.
