These captivating live performers revisit the early repertoire that launched the group on their continuing exploration of the possibilities of the human voice. The sound of Bach’s preludes and fugues as sung by The Swingles is as revelatory today as it was when The Swingle Singers shot to fame in the 1960s. Ward Swingle’s pioneering use of the voice as an instrument still underpins the whole of the group’s dizzyingly eclectic catalogue. Alongside his classic arrangements, expect to hear everything from fiendish Bulgarian folk to pop and jazz favourites, reimagined for the twenty-first century, as well as soul-stirring original songs that look ahead to the next chapter of The Swingle’s story.
