Programme Note

Ángela Hoyos Gómez and Juan Hernández play together in the duo project Ulrica Dúo, experimenting and improvising with sound – to movement – to colour synaesthesia and creating scenes in which the morphing presence of the performers sketches cosmic tales. The new works of the Ulrica Dúo explore sonification as means to transmute processes and data from the field of astronomical sciences to the domain of electroacoustic music; their new pieces also combine syllables from decomposed and spatialised texts, calling forth and drawing off the Dúo’s enigmatic trek into the multiverse.

Juan Hernández is a PhD candidate at the University of Leeds and works as a lecturer at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and Ángela Hoyos Gómez is a PhD candidate at the University of Huddersfield.
