Mussorgsky and Rimsky-Korsakov were both part of the ‘Mighty Handful’ of Russian composers: they lived together as young men and Mussorgsky was Rimsky-Korsakov’s best man. Claire Booth and Christopher Glynn perform songs and piano works by both composers, including parts of Mussorgsky’s 'The Nursery', alongside early Debussy songs that were heavily influenced by the Russian composers.
