Programme Note
The Choir of Royal Holloway and conductor Rupert Gough return to the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London with this hour-long concert of music inspired by eventide. Movements of Rachmaninov’s Vespers will be interspersed with works by other Baltic composers, including Arvo Pärt and Ēriks Ešenvalds: this rich and sonorous repertoire has become a specialty of this fine mixed-voice choir. The programme also includes Holst’s powerful Nunc Dimittis, and Rheinberger’s beautiful Abendlied. Join us in the beautiful surroundings of a candlelit St Martin’s for this relaxing and sumptuous way to end the day.
This concert will last approximately one hour without an interval.
A reduced price combined ticket is available for this concert and the later concert at St Martin's. Please contact the box office for more details.
