Programme Note
The Godolphin Vocal Ensemble makes its Brandenburg Choral Festival of London debut with this fascinating concert of twentieth- and twenty-first-century music for upper voices. The programme will include music by Benjamin Britten and Bob Chilcott, as well as the London premieres of works by Douglas Coombes and Carol Jones, and the world premiere of Lux Aeterna by Olivia Sparkhall, the ensemble’s conductor. Acclaimed young pianist Christopher Guild, will provide piano accompaniment and interludes by Judith Weir, Ottorino Respighi and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Join us in the delightful surroundings of the famous Actor’s Church, St Paul’s Covent Garden, for this innovative programme sung by some of the country’s finest young voices.
