Programme Note
Join the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stephen Bell, for a glorious night of music of all kinds on the banks of the Clyde on Glasgow Green as we mark the Last Night of the Proms. Scotland will be part of the UK wide festivities as Glasgow Green hosts some world class musical entertainment. The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra will be joined by a host of wonderful guest performers and this year we’ll be getting the audience to be part of the show; get ready to sing along to some great tracks, from show tunes to traditional Scottish pieces, we want everyone to join.
Presented by Jamie MacDougall, part one of the concert is live on BBC Two Scotland, the whole event is live on Radio Scotland and, as usual, the audience on Glasgow Green will be joining Park concerts all round the UK to sing together as part of BBC One’s coverage of the Last Night of the Proms around the country.
So bring a blanket and warm up your singing voice and get ready to be part of one of the landmark events of the musical calendar, Proms in the Park from Glasgow Green.
